Want to know more about Big Data Systems, Microservices and Event-Oriented Architectures?

Do you work with Microservices? Big Data Systems? Event-driven Architectures?

As a professor of software engineering in a research program of excellence in computing (at LES / DI / PUC-Rio), I see it as essential that our results, almost all with practical applicability, are shared with the IT community.

Having said that, I would like to share an article recently published by my former master student Rodrigo Laigner (who is now doing a PhD at the University of Copenhagen).

Link to the version of the authors of the article on ResearchGate.

The article, recently accepted at the EuroMicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA), contains practical challenges of migrating from a monolithic big data system to an event-driven microservice architecture and highlights opportunities to improve the design of this type of system. In addition to the participation of researchers, the article was prepared based on a successful case experienced at Tecgraf / PUC-Rio and was also supported by employees of this institute.
